TechRanch http://www.techranch.org and Highway 12 Ventures http://www.highway12ventures.com are hosting a one day entrepreneurial bootcamp with nationally recognized start-up expert Bill Joos geared toward local entrepreneurs at the Best Western GranTree Inn in Bozeman, Montana on November 5, 2008 at 8:30 am. This seminar will teach the top ten mistakes in business plans and how to perfect a company’s elevator pitch. There is also a session to provide a systematic approach to help better define markets and value propositions.
Bill Joos, principal of Go To Market Consulting http://gotomarketconsulting.com/ , based in California's Silicon Valley, works with early stage start-ups, venture capital firms, and their portfolio clients. He spent over 6 years as the VP of Entrepreneur Development at Garage Technology Ventures http://www.garage.com/ , an early stage venture capital firm that he co-founded with Guy Kawasaki http://blog.guykawasaki.com/ .

Bill has worked with early-to-mid stage high technology start-ups helping them polish and clarify their messages and refine their fund-raising and customer presentations. He has also mentored and coached them in go-to-market strategies, revenue and pricing optimization, business alliances, business development, partnerships, and marketing.

The morning session of the entrepreneurial bootcamp, open to the public, will highlight what not to do when developing a business plan. It will also cover the process of creating and delivering a compelling elevator pitch, a one-page executive summary, and a 13-15 slide presentation. The afternoon session will be open only to companies pre-selected to present. Those firms will receive a hardcopy, walk-away tool, based on a case study example of a real start-up.

The cost for the seminar materials is $20 per person. Space is limited in each section. Please register early. Registration is done by visiting http://www.123signup.com/event?id=tkthm.
