Minutes from Central Poverty Reduction Organization Meeting
August 13, 2007

Those Present: Francis Belgrade, Audrey Finlayson, Don Calkins, Randy
Barret, Kathy Pickens, Colette Gray, Sister Kateri, Gary Nowell

Audrey led the meeting in the absence of Sheila Rice.

Colette read a note from Shelia Rice stating that she was in contact
with Pam at Renaissance (a public relations firm) to do a direct mail
campaign to local doctors for matching funds for the 340 prescription
plan that is proposed by the City County Health Department.

Colette and Randy both said that their agencies do not have money to
contribute to the matching funds. Randy made a motion that we give up
to $5000 of the $30,000 grant money received from Opportunity Link to
the City County Health Department to go ahead and fund the proposed
prescription plan that has been discussed at previous CPRO meetings.
Sister Kateri seconded. No discussion. Motion passed.

There was a discussion on the grant received from Opportunity Link.
The members present felt that it was pertinent that we keep moving
forward towards the established goals. We need to review the grant at
the next meeting and look where we are headed. Don Calkins mentioned
that he would ask JC Kolar from Weed and Seed to present for the
discussion since Weed and Seed was mentioned in the grant. Possible
focus in the future is to assist in some way with the Native American
health care issues.

The next meeting will be on September 10 at 5:30 PM. Sister Kateri
made a motion that it be held at the Senior Center. Randy seconded.
Motion passed.

Meeting adjourned at 6:30 PM
